2025 was not the year I planned—but it was the year I needed.
It stretched me, slowed me down, and ultimately grounded me in ways I didn’t anticipate. Looking back now, I see it clearly: 2025 was a year of renewal and rebirth.

Choosing Growth at a Different Stage
One of the most meaningful decisions I made in 2025 was finally pursuing a long-held goal—earning my master’s degree. I had been out of school for quite some time, and I questioned whether this was the right season of life to start again.
Ironically, it was helping my niece, Christine, apply to college that sparked something in me. Watching her step into her future reminded me of a simple but powerful truth: learning never stops. Growth doesn’t have an expiration date.
When a Chapter Ends
In July—on July 11 to be exact—I was informed that my position at Rocket Mortgage was being eliminated, bringing an end to a 15-year career.
There were moments of disappointment and anxiety, of course. But what surprised me most was the overwhelming sense of calm—and even relief. I had grown unhappy in my role, and deep down, I knew a shift was coming.
I truly believe that God will move you when it’s time to move.
That transition gave me the gift of space—to rest, renew, refocus, and recharge. And in that stillness, I trusted that God would lead me forward.
A New Beginning
On September 30, I began a new position at Blend. With that step came renewed energy, clarity, and a genuine sense of fulfillment in my work. It reminded me how important alignment is—not just professionally, but personally.
Creative Growth and New Possibilities
2025 also marked a significant chapter in my creative journey. Serving as lead photographer for the 2025 Crusade for Christ stretched me both technically and spiritually. Capturing moments of worship and faith in motion was deeply meaningful.
That opportunity led to my work being republished in two publications and opened doors to travel to Miami to photograph Hope Church of Christ’s 12th Anniversary and Word Up Reunion.
Through these experiences, a new area of passion and possibility emerged: worship photography.
Looking Ahead
2025 brought peace in the midst of turmoil.
It brought clarity where there had been questions.
And it reminded me that growth doesn’t stop—it evolves.
As I look ahead to 2026, I do so with intention, gratitude, and excitement. I’m ready to show up consistently, honor the journey, and yes—crush my goals.
